Year 2 have covered some exciting topics in the Spring and Summer Term including ‘Play around the world’ and ‘Castles’. This has included writing alternative versions of traditional tales, learning about children who live in countries around the world and a DT project, designing and making their own toy. Our learning culminated with a school trip to Chepstow Castle where we took part in a toy workshop at the Toy Museum, learning about and playing with a range of toys from all around the world. In the afternoon, we explored the castle, extending our learning about the different parts of a castle and also about castle people. The topics were very inspiring and linked well with all our other areas of learning in the curriculum.
