Mark First School students benefited from an enjoyable health week - packed with information and interesting talks.

Discussions about healthy bodies, healthy eating and water safety were given by visitors to the school.

The Somerset life education van provided the children with many valuable discussions and the whole school took part in an Olympic challenge at King Alfred's Sports Centre.

Parents joined in a wake and shake session, and more than half the school either cycled or walked to school each day and each child took part in a skipping challenge.

To promote healthy eating, everyone was encouraged to eat at least five portions of fruit and vegetables each day and drink plenty of water.

To raise money for Save the Children, the school had a friendship fun day, where children were nominated for friendship awards and the whole school made a friendship paper chain, which linked together to symbolise friendship.
