2 Apr 2008 - 'The whisperer' at the Princess Theatre

Having been enchanted by Nick Butterworth’s wonderful story of two cats, forbidden by the colour of their fur to be together, I quickly saw the potential for a musical.

“West Side story” meets “Romeo and Juliet” meets 150 first school children, pretty much sums up our production.  As rival gangs of cats fight because “that is how it has always been”, so an appreciation of racial hatred is developed and a celebration of cultural diversity begins.

Thank you to everyone who came to see ‘The Whisperer’ at the Princess Theatre, once again the children did us proud!  They are so good at knowing what to do and giving their performance – they never cease to amaze me! 

It has been an emotional week as we said farewell to Miss Lewis.  As you know she has brought such a lot to this school and she will be greatly missed.  However I know that she will really enjoy her new position and will carry on inspiring and bringing out the very best in children.
